Ana Celia de Armas Caso was born in Cuba, and raised to Spanish parents. Her career began in Cuba when she played the lead role in Una Rosa de Francia. In 2007, she moved from Madrid and moved to Spain and began starring as a character in El Internado, a popular Spanish drama, for six consecutive seasons. She landed English-speaking roles following her move into Los Angeles. These included the horror film War Dogs (2015), as well as the psychological thriller Knock Knock (2017). Her fame was boosted by her role as holographic AI projection Joi in the science fiction film Blade 2049 (2017).
